1. Material

  • Learning material is aligned to outcomes-based format and mapped to current qualifications or unit standards if applicable.
  • Material is aligned and assessment tools designed at NQF levels 3 - 5.

2. Assessment

  • Identification of current competence is done at diagnostic, formative and summative stages. Learners are required to complete a diagnostic assessment to be able to compare skills before learning to skills assessed after the learning intervention.
  • Assessment tool design covers a knowledge component, an assignment and observation. The focus is on application of skills. Role plays are used to observe the application of interpersonal skills.
  • Great emphasis is placed on quality assurance ensuring fair and reliable assessment principles are upheld.
  • A comprehensive assessment tool design methodology is followed making use of quality assurance principles & methodology to ensure all assessment criteria are covered.

3. RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

  • Learners are awarded recognition of prior learning through a comprehensive assessment process, focusing on current competence according to the required outcomes.

4. SME (Subject Matter Expertise)

  • The services of a subject matter expert is sourced to ensure the content is aligned to the requirements.

5. Assessment Process

  • Briefing sessions to inform candidates about the process that will be followed
  • Assignments, knowledge questionnaires (exam) & workplace observation
  • Portfolio of Evidence assessment & moderation

6. Contents of qualification

  • Applicable SAQA registered qualifications and unit standards are utilized as the basis for development and assessment
